On September 23, the conception of Elizabeth, who brought St. John the Baptist (the Forerunner) into the world, is celebrated. She and her husband Zacharias were unable to have a child for a long time and prayed to God every day that he would send them a child. Therefore, the birth of their son was a real miracle for them and for all believers.

International Day of Sign Languages

This holiday was established in 2017 by the UN General Assembly to support and protect the rights of deaf people around the world.

Sign languages are not just movements, but full-fledged linguistic systems that have their own grammar and syntax. The holiday in their honor aims to raise public awareness of the importance of these languages for the integration of deaf people into society, education and work.
