November 3, according to the New Julian calendar, is the day of remembrance of Akepsimus, Joseph and Aiphal, early Christian martyrs. Joseph was a presbyter in the city of Beth Ketubah in Adiabene, and for his commitment to Christianity, the seventy-year-old was stoned to death in 377 under the Persian king Sapor II. He was martyred along with Bishop Akepsimus and Deacon Aifal.
The professional military holiday of Ukrainian rocket scientists and artillerymen is dedicated to the events of World War II. On November 3, 1943, with a high density of artillery in the area of the enemy's defense breakthrough, the operation to liberate Kyiv was launched. The Day of Missile Forces and Artillery was established at the official level by a presidential decree of October 31, 1997.
On November 3, Ukraine celebrates the Day of Engineer Troops. The holiday was approved by a presidential decree of October 27, 1999, in recognition of the outstanding services of sappers, veterans, and military engineers.
