What holidays are celebrated on February 10

On February 10, the Orthodox Church honors the memory of St. Prochorus, the wonderworker of Kyiv-Pechersk, according to the new style. The saint is known for his humility, love for his neighbors, and the miracles he performed during his life and after his death. Prokhor came to the Kyiv Cave Monastery, where he took monastic vows. The saint lived in strict asceticism, eating only quinoa, for which he was nicknamed "Lobodnik". St. Prokhor is revered as a great saint, miracle worker, and intercessor. His relics are kept in the Near Caves of the Kyiv Cave Monastery.

Teddy Bear Day is celebrated on February 10. The history of the toy is quite interesting. In 1902, U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt refused to shoot a bear cub that had been chased by hunters while hunting. This incident became widely publicized, and toy store owners Morris and Rose Meechum, inspired by this story, created the first teddy bear, naming it Teddy in honor of the president. Since then, the teddy bear has become one of the most popular toys in the world.

Every year on February 10, World Pulses Day is celebrated. This day, established by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), is intended to emphasize the important role of pulses in ensuring food security, healthy diets and sustainable agricultural development.

Oatmeal Monday is a tradition that goes back centuries and is associated with Scottish folk customs. In ancient times, oatmeal was the staple food of the Scots. Oatmeal Monday is a kind of gratitude for a bountiful harvest and a guarantee of prosperity for the coming year.

Valentismas is an interesting idea of combining two holidays: Valentine's Day and Christmas. Both holidays are associated with warm emotions, love and intimacy. Valentismas is more of an idea than an official holiday. Therefore, how you celebrate it depends on your imagination and desire. The main thing is to create an atmosphere of love, warmth, and comfort that will make you and your loved ones happy.
