What cars stopped being produced in 2024: list
2024 was the last year for many iconic car models. From supercars that impressed with their power to practical city cars, these models have left their mark on the automotive industry.
Top Gear experts have recalled some of the most notable cars that were discontinued last year. The list includes both supercars and budget options that drivers have come to love.
Audi R8
After 18 years of production and more than 44,000 units produced, the Audi R8 finally rolled off the assembly line in March 2024. This car was known as a "budget" alternative to other supercars, but falling sales led to its expected retirement.
Bugatti Chiron
It wasn't easy for this car to surpass the success of the Veyron, but it still managed to impress the world. The Super Sport version was the first production car to break the 300-mile-per-hour mark. Now the new Tourbillon takes over the baton.
Fisker Ocean
The Fisker Ocean electric car was supposed to be a lifeline for Fisker, which was in financial trouble. However, the production of the SUV was discontinued in the summer of 2024, leaving a large number of cars on the market with significant discounts.
Ferrari 812 GTS
After the 812 Superfast retired in 2022, the Ferrari 812 GTS also ended its production in August 2024, before the release of the new two-door Hyper GT Dodici Cilindri.
Ferrari Roma Coupe
This car, known for its elegant design, has also ceased to exist, although the Spider version remains on sale.
Ferrari SF90
Ferrari's first plug-in hybrid, the SF90, received mixed reactions. Despite its impressive power, some felt that it lacked the special "magical" feel that Ferrari is known for.
Jaguar F-Type
This car was one of five Jaguar models to be discontinued in 2024. This was a symbolic end to the era of Jaguar's gasoline cars before the transition to an all-electric lineup.
Maserati Quattroporte
The sixth generation of the Maserati Quattroporte, a luxury four-door sedan, also ended its production, taking with it a powerful V8 engine.
Suzuki Jimny (LCV)
This car, known for its compactness and off-road capabilities, has also disappeared from the Suzuki lineup.
Toyota Supra
After 21 years of waiting, the Toyota Supra returned in the form of the A90, but its production ended in 2024 with the "Final Edition" release.
These cars have left their mark on automotive history, and although their production is over, they will remain in the memory of motorists around the world.
