Research into Peru's controversial "alien mummies" continues. New fingerprint analysis shows that they are not "human".

The three-fingered mummies discovered in Peru last year have "direct" fingerprints that do not match human ones. This was stated by a lawyer who checked one of the controversial samples, DailyMail reports.

Former Colorado prosecutor Joshua McDowell and three independent forensic experts from the United States examined one of the tiny mummified bodies, which was named Maria. They were shocked to find that the fingerprints on the alien-like corpses were perfectly straight lines.

"These were not traditional human fingerprint patterns. I am a former prosecutor. I am a criminal defense lawyer. I've seen a lot of fingerprints. And these were not classic fingerprints," Joshua McDowell emphasized.

Maria's body is covered in diatomaceous earth, a type of white powder made from the sediment of fossilized algae found in bodies of water. "However, on the exposed fingers, the epidermal protrusions I saw were mostly straight lines," the lawyer said.

Maria does not look like some of the other smaller specimens. Fingerprint analysis shows that some of the mummies are either not dolls or were made of other strange material.

Although no official determination has been made on the nature of the humanoid bodies, McDowell said he will still be looking into this controversial case.

As a reminder, the so-called "alien mummies" were discovered in 2023 by controversial Mexican journalist and UFO enthusiast Jose Jaime Maussan, who presented his findings to the Mexican Congress.

Maussan has been adamant that the samples are extraterrestrial, despite the dismissal of scientists and government officials who claim it is nothing more than a "hoax." He also stated that he wants "actual, very clear DNA studies done in laboratories of high sophistication" before jumping to conclusions.
