"We do it better than any other country": Russia dreams of hosting the World and European Football Championships

The Russian Football Union (RFU) is seriously considering holding one of the next European Championships on the territory of the terrorist state. At the same time, the aggressor country emphasized that it would organize the tournament in the best way and that the application for the 2028 championship was rejected allegedly for political reasons.
This was stated in an interview by the Secretary General of the Russian Federation Maxim Mitrofanov with the propaganda Match TV channel. The official added that the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) had allegedly recognized the 2018 World Cup as "the best competition ever held."
"Russia is a country that is ready to host a competition such as the World Cup or the European Championships at any time. And we have proved with many of our competitions that we can organize the best competition that has ever been held in world history. So I believe that as soon as we have the opportunity to compete for such projects, we should do it. Russia will definitely do it better than any other country," Mitrofanov said.
It is worth noting that Russia lost the right to host the Champions League final and the UEFA Super Cup after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Earlier, it was reported that seven countries will host Euro 2028 and Euro 2032.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, former Shakhtar Donetsk and Dynamo Kyiv player Andriy Kanchelskis expressed confidence that Russian national team leader Alexander Golovin is not invited to the top clubs in Europe because of his citizenship of the aggressor country.
