Video with an unusual athlete, "Mickey Mouse", who broke the world record, has gathered 23 million views in 2 days
A video of the famous Dutch athlete Femke Bol giving an interview after her victory at the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow has gone viral. The 24-year-old set a new world record in the 400-meter dash.
Commenting on her success, Bol said she felt incredible.
"Last year, I broke the world record, knowing that I had run a near-perfect race. But I didn't know how to do it again. This year, I ran twice with a world record, even doing it at the tournament where you want it the most. So I am proud of myself and the team," said the two-time world champion and three-time European champion.
Users on the Internet drew attention to the athlete's unusual voice. The ultra-fine timbre reminded users of the famous Walt Disney cartoon character.
"I swear, if you close your eyes, you can see that Mickey Mouse just broke a world record in track and field," the video description reads.
The video garnered over 23 million views in a few days and the statistics continue to grow.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, last August at the World Championships in Budapest, Bol fell in the last meters of the 4 x 400-meter relay.
With just a few meters to go, the 23-year-old Diamond League winner stumbled and fell on the treadmill.
