Ukrainians can use Microsoft services for free in 2025: who will get access
The tech giant Microsoft has extended the provision of free services in Ukraine for another year – until the end of 2025. Ukrainian government agencies and authorities will be able to use them. This initiative was launched due to the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
Microsoft's decision was announced by the head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov. He noted that:
- in 2023, the company provided Ukraine with technological assistance worth more than $500 million;
- in 2024 – for $100 million;
- in 2025, "assistance will be provided in the same amount."
"Microsoft will continue its support program for Ukraine in 2025. Thanks to the Microsoft for Ukraine Relief program, Ukrainian government agencies, educational institutions, and central and regional authorities will be provided with Microsoft cloud services even in the most difficult conditions," the statement said.
In general, Fedorov noted, Microsoft has been supporting Ukraine since the beginning of the war unleashed by Russia. In particular, the company:
- helped to move digital infrastructure to secure data centers in Europe;
- helps neutralize enemy cyberattacks;
- joining the investigation of war crimes against the population in Ukraine and funding humanitarian organizations.
"Extending the program to 2025 is an important step for the development of the digital ecosystem. It will strengthen cybersecurity and access to modern technologies for every Ukrainian," summarized Fedorov.
