Ukrainians bought new cars worth billions of hryvnias: how much does the most popular model cost
In 2024, Ukrainians bought new cars worth UAH 125 billion worth (+18% compared to last year). Ukrainians spent the most money on the Toyota brand. However, among specific models, the Renault Duster was the most popular in terms of the number of cars purchased. Its price starts from UAH 772 thousand.
This is evidenced by research conducted by the Ukravtoprom Association on the number of new cars and the costs of Ukrainians for them. It is noted that in total , 69.6 thousand new cars joined the Ukrainian car fleet in 2024.
About half of the UAH 125 billion spent on new cars was accounted for by only 5 car brands. They are:
- Toyota - Ukrainians paid UAH 18.3 billion for new cars produced by it;
- BMW - UAH 16 billion was spent on new cars of the brand;
- Mercedes-Benz - cars of this brand cost Ukrainians UAH 9.7 billion;
- Volkswagen - Ukrainians spent UAH 9.2 billion on its models;
- Renault - new car brands cost UAH 6.4 billion.
Despite the last position in the top 5 brands, Renault was the top brand in terms of the number of cars purchased. "The bestseller of the year in the Ukrainian new car market was the Renault Duster compact crossover - 6826 cars of this model joined the domestic fleet in 2024," analysts calculated.
According to renault.ua, the cost of this new car, the most popular among Ukrainians, varies depending on the configuration and version of the car. According to the price list, the lowest price for the Life and Zen versions is UAH 771,900. The highest is UAH 893,900.
But the new versions of Duster - Authentic, Evolution and Techno - will cost more. Their price starts at UAH 929,900, and the most expensive version will cost more than a million hryvnias - UAH 1,110,900.
By the way, analysts also found out what car colors Ukrainians chose in 2024. It turned out that more than 35% of new cars were white, and almost a third were gray. And the most popular gray car was Renault Duster.
Black cars were chosen by 15% of buyers. Blue cars were chosen by 7%, and green cars by 3%.
