Ukrainian national team reaches the second round of Euro U17 2025 early after two victories
Ukraine's U-17 football team has reached the second round of Euro U17 2025. Having won the second victory in the second round, Yurii Moroz's men secured the first place in Group 4. In another match of the quartet, Belgium was stronger than Kosovo (2:1).
As a result, even in the event of a defeat by Belgium in the third round on October 15, the Ukrainians will not be able to fall below the second line. The top two teams in each group advance to the second round of the qualifiers.
In the second round, 28 participants in seven groups of League A will compete for seven tickets to the final tournament in the spring of 2025. The competition itself will be held in Albania in the summer. The host team received a ticket automatically, although it will take part in the qualifiers anyway.
The rest of the teams in the second round will play in League B and compete for places in League A of the first qualifying round of Euro-2027 (U-19).
It should be added that Euro U17 2025 will be a selection for UEFA representatives for the 2025 World Cup in the U-17 category, which will be held in Qatar with the participation of 48 national teams.
As reported, the day before, the Ukrainians beat Kazakhstan in the second round. The home match at the Kehrwegstadion arena in Eupen (Belgium) between players not older than 2008 ended with a score of 3-0.
On October 9, in the first round, Ukraine's youth national team defeated Kosovo 4-2 at the Cegeka Arena in Genk, Belgium.
