Famous Ukrainian featherweight boxer Viktor Slavinsky (15-2-1, 7 KOs) has won a spectacular victory in the United States. At The Hangar arena in Costa Mesa, California, the 33-year-old native of Mykolaiv knocked out American junior welterweight Derek Harris (12-23-2, 7 KOs) in an 8-round fight.
From the first minutes, the Ukrainian started the fight confidently, constantly working as the number one and forcing his opponent to think more about defense than offense. In the opening round, Slavinsky knocked Harris out with a punch to the liver.
Later on, the Ukrainian fighter's opponent thought only about survival, but in the 4th round, he missed some of the hardest "flops" and ended up on the canvas, after which the referee stopped the beating.
For reference: Viktor Slavinsky is the 2016 world champion among K-1 kickboxing professionals, and in 2012 he won the European Championship of the Year in savate [a French martial art, a mixture of boxing and kickboxing]. He played for the WSB team Ukrainian Atamans.
As OBOZ.UA reported, in 2019, the then-undefeated Slavinsky effectively knocked out local fighter Jesus Aguinaga (5-10-2). The bout with the 30-year-old Mexican was scheduled for four rounds, but the referees stopped it in the first round, unexpectedly giving a draw by technical decision.
Before that, Victor failed to win a fight with Angel Monreal (10-11-2, 3 KOs) in Los Angeles.
