The day before, on July 25, the historical drama The Decameron, based on the collection of the same name by Giovanni Boccaccio, was released on Netflix. Ukrainian actor Oleksandr Rudynskyi played one of the roles in the series.

He became the only Eastern European actor to be included in the cast. In a conversation with Elle, the Pershi Lastivky (Early Swallows) and Nosorih (Rhino) star shared his impressions of working on a large-scale project.

"I think every actor would like to take part in an original Netflix series or movie. I remember when I got the first audition. I was doing makeup, using a special lens because my character had no eye. I realized that I had to impress with my approach. However, I treat it without excessive romanticism, because I realize that this is just the beginning," the Ukrainian admitted.

He played a one-eyed bandit with a large scar on his face. Oleksandr Rudynskyi shared the photos with his colleagues from the filming in Italy on his blog. It looks like he has already returned to Ukraine.

"The one-eyed bandit is another one of my brothers. He loves money and women, but they don't love him. From Kyiv, I send my big hugs to everyone with whom I ate Mexican food, watched Avatar and fought in the dust," the actor wrote.

The black comedy currently has only one season, consisting of 8 episodes. They are already available on Netflix. The production team promised to tell the story of the nobility during the bubonic plague in Italy, who locked themselves in a luxury villa, hiding from the deadly disease.
