Our compatriots played a great game
Ukraine's national mini-football team defeated Algeria 9-1 in the first round of the World Cup, which is taking place in Ras Al Khaimah (UAE) from October 26 to November 4. The tournament is held in the 6-on-6 category every two years. Algeria replaced Israel at the last minute, which refused to participate due to the war with Hamas.
The match started poorly for out team. Algeria opened the scoring in the 8th minute. A minute later, the Ukrainian national team scored a goal in response through the efforts of Dmytro Brovko. Before the break, the audience did not see any more goals.
In the second half, our compatriots dominated the field. In the 29th minute, Ukraine took the lead, and then the Algerians scored two goals. In the 39th minute, Igor Kostroma made the score 5-1.
The Ukrainian players did not stop there and managed to hit the Algerian goal four more times before the end of regular time: Mykyta Vovchenko and Andriy Slinkin, who scored a hat-trick, did it.
In addition to Ukraine and Algeria, the Czech Republic and Thailand are playing in Group C. They will play their match on Friday, October 27. According to the competition rules, the top two teams in each group will advance to the playoffs.
