Ukraine intends to build vegetable storage facilities in every region. It is expected that the facilities will be able to hold at least 10-20 thousand tons of products.
This was announced by Vitalii Koval, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food. He noted:
- Ukraine has now moved from static programs to dynamic ones, so UAH 1 billion has been budgeted for 2025 to support the development of livestock and agricultural processing.
- The processing program will include the construction of vegetable storage facilities.
"In 2025, we need to launch a vegetable storage program... We need several powerful locations in each region for both potato and vegetable storage, with at least 10-20 thousand tons of storage in each district and near regional centers," Koval said.
He explained that there are currently 300 thousand tons of potato storage facilities in Ukraine. The production capacity is 20 million tons.
"In fact, such a centralized storage policy has never been discussed before. And it needs to be implemented," the Minister stated.

At the same time, Ukraine is preparing to build toll roads. According to Deputy Minister of Finance Oleksandr Kava, the cost of the system that will calculate the amount of tolls in Ukraine could cost more than UAH 7 billion.
However, he noted that the calculations were made before the full-scale invasion. That is why they are now approximate.
"This requires the development of a special payment and control system, which is not cheap. Even before the war, we calculated the cost of such a system for the main state roads, it was about UAH 7 billion," said Kava.
The deputy minister emphasized that Ukraine needs to create a system that will determine "when a car is on the road." That is, it will "track" its entire journey – and only then calculate the cost of travel."
As OBOZ.UA reported earlier, Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development Serhii Derkach called the issue of toll roads a requirement of the European Union. A bill has already been drafted to launch this mechanism, as well as agreements with the European Investment Bank (EIB), which will be one of the project's investors.
