On Friday, November 29, a huge lenticular or, as it is also called, "lens-shaped" cloud floated over Manchester. It looked like a movie about an alien invasion.

According to the Meteorological Bureau, the rare clouds fly at an altitude of 1980 to 5030 meters above the ground. Civil servant Dave said that his seven-year-old son Blake noticed the phenomenon from his bedroom, so he grabbed his phone to capture the moment, the Daily Star reports.

"We agreed that it looked like a spaceship. Ten minutes later, when the sun came up, the sky was no longer the same, and it lost its color. I was lucky and had my phone handy," he said.

Dave also added that he does not consider himself a professional photographer, although he has been interested in it for many years, and assured that he had never seen anything like it before.

"A friend said it was a lenticular cloud, and I had never heard of it. It reminded me of Nope. A cloud-like UFO that turned out to be a big balloon," he said.

According to The Sun, the rare cloud has been the culprit behind many reports of UFO sightings around the world. Observers compared this strange sighting to the sci-fi horror movie "Nope", where people are sucked in and eaten by an otherworldly monster.

But in fact, this cloud is not something ominous. It's a rare phenomenon known as a lenticular cloud.

Lenticular clouds are a visible sign of mountain waves in the air. The clouds form when air blows across a mountain range, like the ripples that form in a river when water flows over an obstacle like a stone.

The Meteorological Service says that if the air has sufficient humidity, the rising waves will cause water vapor to condense, forming the appearance of a cloud.

In the summer, UFO-like clouds were also seen in the sky over Ukraine. This phenomenon was filmed and posted on Facebook by mountain rescuer Vasyl Fitsak in Ivano-Frankivsk region. According to the man, the natural phenomenon was filmed in the village of Osmoloda, located in the Gorgany massif.
