Two girls kissed in a church in Lviv after the scandal over Zhadan and Soloviy's video: they were supported by an LGBT soldier
The scandal surrounding the "anti-Christian" video for the song "Heart" by Serhiy Zhadan and Khrystyna Soloviy has gained an unexpected continuation. LGBT couples come to the Church of St. Andrew the First-Called in Lviv, where the video was filmed, and kiss there, recording their love on camera. The footage went viral online.
The flash mob was started by two girls who kissed right inside the church. One of them posted the provocative photo on her personal Facebook page. The image has received hundreds of reactions, nearly 500 comments and more than 70 shares (at the time of writing).
Alina Shubska captioned the photo concisely and to the point: "Because God is love!"
As expected, the online reaction was mixed. Some praised the girls' bold action and noted that "Ukraine is a country of free people." There were also many haters who called the girls' behavior inappropriate and inappropriate.
At the same time, Alina joked that nothing was done to her in Lviv after the photo was published and distributed. "I am safe and sound," the author of the provocative photo commented sarcastically.
Meanwhile, the single action began to turn into a flash mob. The girls were supported by another same-sex couple, calling on like-minded people to take similar photos and videos. For example, Viktor Pylypenko, a gay Ukrainian defender and head of the organization Ukrainian LGBT Soldiers for Different Rights, posted a bold video of a kiss with his lover on Facebook.
"We call on all gay couples to come to St. Andrew's Church, Lviv, and kiss each other - thus reminding those who perform their rites there that they have no power to condemn and punish for love. We were not allowed to go inside - they said that they were cleaning. Although we did not see any cleaning through the glass of the door. It's okay, it will wait until the next vacation. Alina Shubskaya, it seems that your couple's kiss made quite a stir there before our visit. We dedicate our kiss to the sensual video of Sergei Zhadan and Kristina Soloviy," Viktor Pylypenko signed.
As you know, the scandal broke out, in particular, because the video showed two girls kissing. According to Father Justin Boyko, Zhadan and Soloviy's team convinced the priests that the track was intended to raise the morale of the military and the people, so they were given the keys and did not interfere with the filming. Upon returning to the church, Soloviy was caught playing the role of a "whore of Babylon" and expelled from the church. The father is sure that if the filming had continued, the girls in the video would have kissed in the church.
Subsequently, Serhiy Zhadan responded to these statements, commenting on the words of the clergy for the first time. The artist accused them of lying.
OBOZ.UA also wrote that the rector of the Lviv church, Father Mykhailo Luchkiv, was suspended from his duties because of the scandalous video work of the stars. It is known that he had been the pastor of St. Andrew's Church since May 2001, i.e., for more than 22 years.
