Trump's close associate Steve Witkoff allegedly arrives in Moscow: what the Kremlin says about the rumors
The plane of Steve Witkoff, a close associate of US President Donald Trump, could have landed in Moscow. However, it is not known who is on board the plane.
This was reported by Russian media, citing data from Flightradar24, an aircraft tracking service. As you know, the American leader revealed he has been maintaining dialog with the Russian side in recent days.
It is therefore possible that Steve Witkoff's plane could have brought a person with the appropriate authority to Moscow.
"The plane of Trump's special envoy for Middle East, Steve Witkoff, has landed in Moscow. American bloggers are writing about it on Twitter. According to Flightradar, the Gulfstream G650ER business jet landed at Vnukovo at about 10 a.m.," the Russian media outlet said.
The Russian dictator's spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said that the Kremlin "has no information" about the arrival of the adviser to the American leader in Moscow and that "no contacts are planned."
Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia), following the Kremlin, did not confirm the rumors either.
"Today, a one-time technical flight was made to Moscow from Washington. This is a common practice of humanitarian cooperation between states," they said.
Steve Witkoff is Donald Trump's special envoy for Middle East. A few days ago, he met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington. At the same time, experts point out that Witkoff's plane was used as a backup for the American leader himself.
Saying that Trump himself flew to Moscow would be an overstatement. However, a possible visit of one of his team members to the Russian capital may bear clearly defined goals.
As a reminder, Donald Trump believes that the United States is making progress in negotiations to end Russia's war against Ukraine. However, he did not provide any details of the conversations he had with Kremlin dictator Putin. The Republican noted that the United States maintains contacts with both Russia and Ukraine.
As reported, on February 10, it became known that the US Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg may visit Ukraine next week. It is likely to take place on Thursday, February 20. According to Andiy Yermak, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, if he arrives, Kellogg will learn detailed information about the situation on the battlefield and the delivery of weapons and equipment, as well as mobilization process.
