Top 10 safest cars for a young family with children

Choosing a car is not an easy task in general. But if you need to buy a vehicle for a family with children, it becomes even more complicated.

A good family car should be reliable, spacious and safe. To make it easier for you to find exactly what you need, Nationwide Vehicle Contracts, a car rental company, has shared a selection of the best models.

All of these cars received the highest score in the Euro NCAP rating, which assesses car safety in four categories: adult passenger, child, pedestrian protection, and safety system, which includes driver assistance and accident prevention technologies.

Volvo XC40

Volvo has a reputation as one of the safest car manufacturers.

In testing, the XC40 scored an impressive 97% for adult protection, 87% for child protection and had high scores, 71% and 77% respectively, for pedestrian protection and safety.

Nissan Qashqai

The Nissan Qashqai scored highly in all categories, including the safety system with a score of 95%.

With its forward collision warning system, lane departure warning system, rear parking sensors, and more, the Nissan Qashqai is one of the best cars in its class.

Volkswagen Taigo

The Taigo received high marks in the adult and child safety ratings, 94% and 84% respectively, making it one of the safest compact family SUVs.

Its pedestrian score was 71%, and the safety assistance system was rated at 70%.

Audi Q4 e-tron Estate

During the tests, the car received a five-star status, scoring 94% safety for adults and 89% for child protection.

Despite the fact that the Q4 e-tron received a lower pedestrian safety score of 66%, its safety system as a whole received 80% thanks to Audi's innovative Pre sense system.

Cupra Formentor

If you're looking for a sporty SUV that's both superbly driven and safe, look no further than the new Cupra Formentor.

It is one of the safest family cars in its class. It scored 93% for adult occupant protection and 88% for children.

Hyundai Tucson.

The Hyundai Tucson scored well, with 86% and 87% for adult and child safety, 66% for pedestrian protection, and 76% for overall safety.

With seven airbags as standard, high beam assist, blind spot monitor, and highway assist with collision avoidance technology, this car is a great choice for young families.

Nissan Juke

This compact SUV received a decent rating: 94% for adult passengers, 85% for children, 81% for pedestrians, and 73% for safety.

Nissan's innovative intelligent mobility system with cyclist and pedestrian detection and a robust, high-strength vehicle design for collision protection is worth noting.

Volkswagen Golf Hatchback

The Volkswagen Golf scored 95% for adult occupant protection, 89% for child occupants, 76% for pedestrians and 78% for safety technology.

The vehicle has many useful features, such as intelligent collision response, tire pressure monitoring, and more.

Volkswagen Tiguan

In the NCAP safety tests, the Volkswagen Tiguan scored 96% among adult passengers and 84% among children, making it one of the safest cars in Europe.

The car boasts a first-class safety package, including a highly effective seat belt, an innovative driver assistance system, and more.

Ford Focus Hatchback

The Ford Focus's safety record is unbeatable, so it's no surprise that it received five stars in the Euro NCAP safety rating in recent tests.

The car has an excellent collision avoidance system and pedestrian detection technology. If the driver does not respond to the warning, the car applies the brakes on its own.
