In Ukraine, during the war, the scenario of resumption of civilian air traffic will be unrealistic until the safety of airports and aircraft is ensured at the highest possible level. Aviation expert Kostyantyn Kryvolap said that Kyiv Airport is the best prepared for the restart of operations.

The former test engineer of the Antonov Design Bureau said this on March 12 on the air of United News. According to him, delegations have already visited Lviv, Uzhhorod and Kyiv airports.

Mr. Kryvolap emphasized that safety is paramount in this matter. Otherwise, "nothing will fly," he said.

The expert said that in terms of airspace safety, flights could potentially be resumed from Kyiv, but it is possible that it could be Lviv.

Ukraine will need to seek compromises with international aviation regulators. "Only then will airports be reopened and some flights will begin," Kryvolap said.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, aviation market development expert Bohdan Dolintse said earlier that after civilian flights resume in Ukraine, airports will decide on their own how to act during air alerts. The measures will be approved by the regulator.
