This new iPhone feature will help you a lot during traveling: where to find it

Elena BylimNews

The new feature, integrated into the standard Calculator app on iPhone, will make it easier to convert currencies and other units of measurement while traveling. This update, available in iOS 18, allows you to quickly and conveniently transfer money from one currency to another, as well as convert various quantities such as weight, length, area, and more.

This feature, which remained little known until recently, has already gained popularity among travelers who appreciate its convenience and practicality, the Mirror notes. To use the currency conversion feature, you need to open the Calculator app on your iPhone. In the lower left part of the screen, you will find the Calculator Mode button. After clicking on it, you need to select the "Convert" option.

Next, the user can select the desired currency from the menu located at the top of the screen. By entering a value in any of the fields, the conversion will be displayed automatically as you type. This allows you to instantly get the conversion results, which is especially convenient when making purchases abroad.

In addition to converting currencies, this feature also allows you to convert other units of measurement, such as area (for example, from square feet to square meters), angles, data, energy, force, fuel, length, power, pressure, speed, temperature, time, volume, and weight. This makes the Calculator app a versatile tool for both travel and everyday use.

For example, the weight conversion function is useful for checking the weight of your luggage, and the speed conversion will help you navigate roads with a different measurement system. This feature is available on iPhone XR/XS and others running on iOS 18.

In addition to currency conversion, there is another useful hack for iPhone users related to flight information. To do this, just enter the flight number and airline code in the Messages or Notes app (for example, BA 0285 for a British Airways flight).

The iPhone automatically recognizes this code and turns it into an active link. By clicking on it, the user gets access to detailed flight information, including a flight map, departure and arrival times, terminals, gate numbers, and baggage information.

These two hidden features on your iPhone make life much easier on a trip, allowing to quickly and conveniently convert currencies and get up-to-date flight information without the need for third-party applications.
