Antonina Cherniy, a Ukrainian climber from Lviv, came across a huge bear while hiking alone in the Carpathians. The unexpected encounter happened when the tourist was climbing Mount Vysoka near Osmoloda.
According to Antonina herself, the beast was "as big as a tank" and wandered only 150-200 meters away from her. However, the climber was not afraid. Moreover, she took out her phone to film the encounter with the bear and shared the footage on her personal Facebook page.
"Like any conscious person, when I see a bear in the Carpathians, the first thing I do is take out my phone and film it. Yesterday, when I was climbing alone to Vysoka Mountain near Osmoloda, I was lucky enough to meet a bear 150-200 meters away. It was as big as a tank and more beautiful than anything else in the world," the tourist said.

Antonina also noted that at that moment, paradoxically, she was the happiest person in the world. Despite the danger, she was happy to see her brown friend. However, the climber emphasized that such "tricks" should not be repeated.
"And yes, the golden fall in the Carpathians is over, so put on your winter boots, don't forget your shoe covers and a warm down jacket. And take something from the bears... If it's not obvious enough, don't try to repeat it!" the extreme athlete wrote on her social media.
As OBOZ.UA wrote, a real winter with snow and blizzards came to the Carpathians. On November 8, the air temperature on Pip Ivan of Chornohora dropped to sub-zero: it was cloudy and snowy.
