These inexpensive cars are gone forever: which models will leave the market. Photo
Under the pressure of strict safety, environmental and fuel efficiency requirements, the global automotive industry is on the verge of change. These inexpensive models have become victims and are the first to leave the market.
OBOZ.UA talks about well-known cars of the most popular segments that will not survive until 2025. Some of the names in the selection will surprise many people.
Audi A4
This model is one of the two most affordable Audi sedans. The legendary model will not survive until 2025. Now its place will be taken by the new Audi A5. Previously, the next A4 model was expected to return to the market as an electric car in a few years. But recently, the company announced that it would change the pace of electrification of the model range amid a slowdown in the EV market.
Chevrolet Camaro
The history of the famous muscle car ended with the 6th generation Chevrolet Camaro. Production of the model has already stopped. A few years ago, the Camaro was promised an electric future. But today it's hard to talk about it.
Chevrolet Malibu
This is a well-known rival of the Toyota Camry, which apparently lost the competition to the Japanese sedan. The new Chevrolet Bolt electric car will take the place of the 9th generation Malibu on the assembly line.
Fisker Ocean
The Fisker Ocean electric crossover turned out to be a bold and very stylish attempt to compete with Tesla. Despite the fact that the low quality of the model was actually not inferior to its main competitor, the company did not have Elon Musk to deceive potential buyers. As a result, Fisker is already bankrupt.
Ford Escape
The American Ford Escape crossover will be discontinued under pressure from the most popular models of other brands. The European version of the Ford Kuga is likely to face the same fate.
Mitsubishi Mirage
This budget car did not sell very well in the United States. But recently, consumer interest in the car has increased dramatically. But this will not save the outdated model from being discontinued.
Toyota Supra
In fact, this car is not leaving the model lineup yet. However, the production of the cheapest 4-cylinder version of the Toyota Supra has been discontinued. Surprisingly, sales were low.
