Russia has made a cynical statement about the IL-76 plane crash

Russia has once again made a cynical statement about the IL-76 plane crash that occurred on January 24 in the Belgorod region. In particular, they said that the Kremlin had not received any requests from Kyiv to hand over the bodies of the dead prisoners who were allegedly on board the plane.

This is reported by the propaganda media, citing a statement by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov. At the same time, Russia has not yet provided any confirmation of its claims about the plane crash and does not allow representatives of the international media or other independent experts to the scene.

"The Russian presidential administration has not received any requests from Kyiv to hand over the bodies of the prisoners who died in the crash of the IL-76," Peskov cynically stated.

Peskov's statement

As reported by OBOZ.UA, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kyrylo Budanov, said that only Russia claims that there were allegedly Ukrainian prisoners of war on board its IL-76, which crashed on January 24 near Belgorod. At the same time, the aggressor has not yet shown any willingness to hand over the bodies to Ukraine.

As a reminder, the DIU confirmed that a prisoner exchange was supposed to take place between Ukraine and Russia on January 24, and the Ukrainian side fulfilled all the agreements. The security of Ukrainian prisoners was to be ensured by the Russian side, they emphasized.

Also, according to the representative of the DIU, Andriy Yusov, the IL-76 could have carried both ammunition and prisoners who could have been used as human shields. The Russian reaction and the circumstances of the crash were provocative. An exchange was planned for that day, but no ceasefire was declared and Moscow did not announce its intention to use aircraft to transport prisoners.
