A real winter fairy tale reigns in the Carpathians. In the highlands of Chornohora, there is severe frost, blizzards, and significant snow cover.

Rescuers warn of the danger of climbing in such conditions. This was reported by the head of the Chornohora search and rescue post Vasyl Fitsak.

On the Chornohora ridge, the temperature has dropped to -13°C, winds are reaching 10-12 m/s, and due to a severe blizzard, visibility is limited to 40 meters.

Snow drifts reach 1.5 meters in some places, making travel extremely dangerous.

According to Fitsak, in such conditions, the face freezes in a matter of minutes.

The situation is not much better in the Zaroslyak tract: the temperature here is -8°C, the wind is blowing at 8-10 m/s, and the snow cover reaches 70 cm. The situation is further complicated by thick fog.

Rescuers warn tourists against climbing the mountains in such conditions, as winter weather in the Carpathians can be not only unpredictable but also deadly.

On Friday, November 22, Kyiv was hit by heavy snowfall in the afternoon. Due to the bad weather, visibility on the roads deteriorated, which affected traffic.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, on Tuesday, November 5, the frost-free period ended in Kyiv, when the air temperature dropped below 0ºС. It lasted almost 20 days.
