The Ukrainian state bank has decided on the validity of cards: when is the last day
The deadline for the extension of the validity period of all its cards - including those that are about to expire - is coming to an end. They will be valid at least until December 31, 2024.
This was reported by the bank itself. There:
- They explained that the decision to extend was made in connection with the current martial law in Ukraine.
- They said that the extension is automatic for cards that have expired since February 2022.
In addition, the bank urged those for whom the card has already been reissued to get it. To do this, you should contact an Oschadbank branch.
"Due to the martial law, Oschadbank has extended the validity of all payment cards, including those for internally displaced persons, until December 31, 2024. The extension is automatic for cards that have expired since February 2022," the statement said.
However, it is possible that closer to the expiration of this period, Oschadbank will extend it, as it has done before. The last time was in March 2024, until September 30, 2024.
Tigipko is allowed to buy a bank in Ukraine
At the same time, TAS Group shareholder Sergiy Tigipko has received permission from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) to concentrate through the indirect acquisition of Idea Bank. It is a 100% stake in the institution.
According to the group itself, the next and at the same time final step for the legal completion of the transaction should be the decision of the National Bank to approve a significant participation in JSC Idea Bank.
"The AMCU's approval is one of the important steps towards finalizing the agreement signed with Getin Holding (Poland) on the acquisition of shares in JSC Idea Bank by TAS Group. ... The necessary package of documents has been submitted to the banking market regulator. The NBU's decision is expected," the statement said.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, Ukrainian banks will operate as usual during the New Year period (from December 30, 2024 to January 1, 2025). At the same time, the NBU has obliged them to reinforce their cash desks and ATMs with cash of various denominations to ensure the smooth operation of the Ukrainian banking system and proper customer service.
