The trailer for Disney's new "Snow White" is out: when is the premiere

Disney has released the official trailer for the remake of Snow White, which promises a reimagining of the classic 1937 fairy tale. The film stars Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the evil queen.

The new film will be the studio's next live-action project with a budget of $200 million. The premiere is scheduled for March 21, 2025, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film is directed by Mark Webb, known for 500 Days of Summer and The Amazing Spider-Man. According to the plot, Snow White escapes from the jealousy of her evil stepmother and runs away to the forest, where she finds refuge in the house of the Seven Dwarfs. This time, Disney promises to reveal the characters more deeply and add new nuances to the familiar story. The screenplay was written by Greta Gerwig (Barbie) and Erin Cressida Wilson (The Girl on the Train).

The musical score is particularly noteworthy, as Rachel Zegler, known for her performance in West Side Story, will demonstrate her vocal skills on the big screen. Gal Gadot will also impress the audience as the evil queen, adding charisma and depth to the role. Andrew Burnup, Martin Klebba, and Ansu Kabia join the cast.

The film has already caused controversy even before its release. In 2022, actor Peter Dinklage criticized Disney's approach to depicting dwarves, forcing the studio to consult with the relevant communities. Later, Rachel Zegler was criticized for her comments on traditional storytelling, in particular on the theme of Snow White's romance.

In her interviews, Zegler explained that the love story was not excluded, but the emphasis was on the development of the heroine's personality. According to her, the plot remains holistic, although it covers other important topics, such as self-affirmation and finding your own path.
