"The Squid Game will return in December: new teaser and all the details about the second season

"The Squid Game" is a popular South Korean series, a mix of action-adventure, thriller, and drama. It premiered on September 17, 2021, on the Netflix platform. The release had very high ratings, so fans were eagerly awaiting the sequel.

Recently, Netflix presented a new teaser for the second season of "Game of Thrones". The main character Song Gi Hoon returns to the deadly game for revenge.

At one time, the series became a real hit. 456 people with financial problems decide to take part in a mysterious survival game. For 6 days, they will play one children's game at a time. The winner will receive an incredible amount of money as a reward, and the losers will die.

The protagonist, Song Gi-hoon, is a typical loser who is in debt and going through a difficult period in his personal life due to a divorce. One day, he meets a man in the subway who offers to play a game of chance: if he wins, he will receive money, and if he loses, he will be punched in the face. He accepts the terms, not even realizing that he is now facing death.

The sequel will take place just a few days after the events of the first season. Song Gi-hoon decides not to get on the plane to the United States and starts a fight with the show's organizers. The teaser shows the protagonist putting on a green uniform with the number 456 and joining the new participants of the game.

Season 2 will also feature other key characters: the game's frontman (Lee Byung-hong), a recruiter of new players (Kong Yu), and a young police officer looking for his brother (Woo Ha-joon).

Hwang Dong-hyuk, who wrote, directed, and executive produced the movie, won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series.

"I know that many fans and viewers have really enjoyed the series, and we are focused on how to make it even more interesting for the global audience," said the director.

The series will be released on Netflix on December 26.

Netflix also announced that the third and final season will be released in 2025.
