It became known that the sci-fi story will not be continued. The series was canceled after the first season. The details were reported by Variety.

The series was broadcast from June to August on AMC, BBC America, and the AMC+ streamer. The season finale, which is now the series finale, aired on August 25.

Krysten Ritter played the main role. In general, "Orphan Black: Echoes" is a continuation of the popular BBC America series Black Orphan. The cast also includes Keeley Hawes, Amanda Fix, Avan Jogia, Rya Kihlstedt, and James Hiroyuki Liao.

The official trailer states that the story follows the lives of women who embark on a fascinating journey, unraveling the mystery of their identities and uncovering a terrifying story of love and betrayal. Ritter is a woman with an incredible origin story who is trying to find her place in the world.

Anna Fishko was the executive producer of the series. John Fawcett, co-creator of the original series, was the second executive producer and director. David Fortier, Ivan Schnieberg, Nick Nantell, Katie O'Connell Marsh, and Carrie Appleyard joined the development team.

"Orphan Black: Echoes" failed to replicate the success of Black Orphan, as the new series received only 60% approval on Rotten Tomatoes. "Black Orphan, starring Tatiana Maslany, lasted for five seasons. The actress won an Emmy Award and was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance.

The main character is Sarah Manning, who miraculously survived a terrible car accident. Watching her own funeral, she realizes that her death was faked. Entangled in a whirlwind of mysterious events, Sarah finds herself in a world of genetic experiments, dangerous conspiracies, and the terrible consequences of scientific research.

The series features numerous secondary characters, each with their own unique story and character. In particular, the rich and capricious Crystal dreams of a career as a model, and Kasima works in the business world. Each of them learns about her genetic peculiarity and begins to look for her own place in this world.
