"The 'serfs' have become smarter than before." The Russian Olympic champion addressed her compatriots and received a response from them online

The titled athlete received a lot of unflattering comments in her address

Commenting on the lack of ammunition for Russian biathletes, two-time Olympic champion Olga Zaitseva suggested that everyone should be patient until the best time comes. The 46-year-old ex-biathlete, who has been a member of the State Duma since September 2024, advises "to take into account the realities."

"I think that at such a difficult time for the country, we should not be outraged by the lack of ammunition. Of course, there is a problem. Ammunition is expensive and requires significant financial resources to purchase, especially for athletes who are undergoing individual training. I don't want to scold the athletes who raise this issue, because we need to understand which organization is responsible for providing ammunition to a particular athlete and not forget the realities of the current situation in the world," Zaitseva said in an interview with Vseprosport.

Zaitseva also expressed confidence that no one will allow regression in the development of Russian biathlon.

"We will have a great way to develop this industry for biathletes. Our athletes have always fired Russian ammunition. Only a few athletes who work with foreign barrels shoot foreign ammunition. Russian-made sporting rifles are best suited for Russian ammunition. No one will ever allow a regression in the development of Russian biathlon. It is an expensive winter sport, number one, and it has a deep history and important applied value. So there is no catastrophe," Zaitseva said.

In response, users attacked Olga, asking when the easy time will come.

"Hard times" in Russia are a kind of norm. It's good that during her speeches there were no problems with ammunition or salt", "Soon there will be questions about why such accurate people are not at the front", "When will there be an easy time for the country? For 100 years they have been saying "we have to be patient", or maybe the problem is in the Soviet system, it is flawed and meaningless", "But the 'serfs' have become smarter than before. They don't wait for anything, they just go to developed countries and live there," fans write.

As OBOZ.UA reported, this summer, Zaitseva made absurd accusations against Ukrainians after it became known that our athletes would not shake hands with Russians at the 2024 Olympic Games. The former biathlete demanded that Ukrainian athletes be friends with representatives of the aggressor country.
