Cannes reacts to Russian fake about their participation in Marché du Film

Representatives of the Cannes Film Market, Marché du Film, have denied the Russians' claim that they will participate in the event. The day before, Russian rapper Ptaha, who played the lead role in the movie "Brother 3," said that the film would be shown in Cannes.

The organizers of the event were surprised by the propagandists' fake. The Marché du Film's Instagram page published a post stating that Switzerland had become an honorary participant in this year's market. In the comments, representatives responded to those who were concerned about the screening of propaganda films in Cannes.

"We are very surprised because the organization in question is neither an exhibitor nor an accredited company at Marché du Film. In addition, the Marché participants have not yet been confirmed and will only be announced at the end of April. The use of our brand and logo is prohibited," the statement reads.

In addition, the organizers reminded the audience of the official position of the Cannes Film Festival: no Russians or persons associated with the Russian authorities will be allowed to participate in the events.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA told how Putinists announced their participation in the Marché du Film. In particular, the propagandist and rapper Ptaha, who supports the occupation of Ukrainian territories by the Russian Federation, boasted about the fake news on social media.
