The perfect airplane seats for those traveling with children have been named
Traveling with children is always a challenge. A small tourist needs to be provided with an appropriate level of comfort and entertainment, one of which is the choice of seat on the airplane.
Travel+Leisure tried to determine the best seats on board for those traveling with children. Referring to the findings of a study by AirAdvisor, the journalists said the best ones will be in the bulkhead row. Flight attendants contacted by the publication also confirmed this assumption. This is a particularly good choice for passengers traveling with infants. In addition to more space in front of the seat here, parents have the opportunity to attach a cradle.
However, keep in mind that not all airplanes have the opportunity to install a cradle. In addition, you will not have the opportunity to put things under the seat in the bulkhead row, and therefore there may not be easy access to such things as toys, diaper bags, etc. Therefore, this nuance is better to clarify with the carrier in advance.
Another inconvenience that can arise in these seats is fixed armrests. They can complicate boarding and disembarkation with small children, for whom it can be difficult to cope with such an obstacle. Take this point into account, too. However, if you carry babies in your arms, armrests should not be a problem.
If you are traveling as a family and you know for sure that you will occupy a whole row of seats in the cabin, then it is better to put the child near the window. Then the baby will get additional entertainment in the form of a porthole. If you do not occupy the whole row and you know that your child is restless or you will have to get up often, then it is better to choose a seat in the aisle.
For those who are in potty training mode, sitting next to the toilet is also a good idea. The same applies to babies in diapers. By the way, airplanes have changing tables, and flight attendants encourage you to use them when needed rather than changing babies in seats.
If your child is already independently watching videos or reading, then it is better to put them away from the toilet so that passengers in line do not interfere with the process. In this case, choose a seat away from the restroom. The same should be done if the child will need to sleep during the flight.
Another nuance that is important to remember when choosing seats is that children under the age of 15 are not allowed to sit in the rows near the exits. Even if you book such a seat, you will be forced to move, which means that there is a chance you and your child will not end up together.
