Since the beginning of 2024, "Ukrzaliznytsia" has transported almost 800 thousand passengers in international traffic, including most of them to Przemysl, Chełm, and Warsaw. The most popular route remains the Kyiv – Warsaw train, where the number of seats is limited due to the specifics of the cars.
This was reported by "Ukrzaliznytsia". "Since the beginning of the year, "Ukrzaliznytsia" has already transported almost 800 thousand passengers in international traffic and expects a revival in demand for international trips in the summer," the statement said.
"Ukrzaliznytsia" is actively preparing for the summer transportation season, expecting an increase in demand for international trips. Currently, 28 trains are running in international traffic:
- 14 trains depart from the largest cities of Ukraine;
- 14 trains depart from border towns.
"Ukrzaliznytsia" trains connect Ukrainian cities with countries such as Poland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Moldova, Hungary, and Slovakia. The most popular route is the train №67/68 Kyiv – Warsaw.
However, due to the specifics of the cars, the number of seats on this train is limited. It uses RIC cars, which can run on both Ukrainian and European gauge tracks. Therefore, "Ukrzaliznytsia" recommends that passengers who did not have time to buy a ticket for this train consider alternative routes:
- Lviv – Rava-Ruska – Warsaw;
- trips to Chełm;
- trips to Przemyśl.
Ticket sales for international trains open 20 days before the train departure. Tickets for the Kyiv – Warsaw and Kyiv – Vienna trains are available on the updated website of ЄUkrzaliznytsiaЄ and in the mobile application. To buy tickets, you need to verify the user with Diia.Signature.
