The group that nominates and votes for the awards includes more than 300 people from various fields from around the world. The Golden Globe Awards ceremony traditionally opens the season of all film and television industry awards, which usually ends with the Oscars.

It is worth noting that the awards ceremony was held without the participation of celebrities in 2022. Scandals related to diversity and ethics left the ceremony without a network broadcaster and celebrities to broadcast.

Thus, stars and studios boycotted the Golden Globes, and NBC refused to broadcast it. After the group added black journalists to its ranks and introduced other reforms to address ethical concerns, the show returned in January 2023 on a one-year trial deal with NBC. In June, billionaire Todd Boehly received permission to dissolve the HFPA and turn the Golden Globes into a commercial organization. Its assets were acquired by Eldridge Industries.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, on December 11, Google published its traditional annual report titled "Year in Search". It is a selection of the most popular global queries of 2023. Find out what and who was googled the most in show business, cinema, music, and fashion in this article.
