The capital's Rusanivka has always been a favorite vacation spot for Kyiv residents and visitors. Thanks to old photographs, we can find out what "Kyiv Venice" looked like in the 1980s.

The photos were published on the Telegram channel of the Historic Kyiv community. You can see what this location looked like about 40 years ago.

"Rusanivka. 1980s," the post reads.

The published photos show not only the area known as "Kyiv Venice" among the residents of the capital, but also the majestic fountains in the middle of the canal.

Rusanivka is the first residential area to be built on an artificially created island. The beauty and comfort of this location, in particular, were immediately appreciated by the scientists, teachers, and artists who settled there.
