The most reliable car brands: the latest rating for drivers
When choosing a car, you have to take into account a lot of factors, not the least of which is reliability. After all, few people want to get a tin can of trouble. Instead, a car that doesn't suffer from mechanical problems will last longer and be more economical, including due to less need for maintenance and repairs. In addition, the owner of a reliable car can count on a higher level of safety.
That's why Slash Gear has decided to rank the car brands with the most reliable cars. The brands are listed in ascending order of this indicator.
Subaru
For a long time, cars were not the main focus of the company, which was founded in the early twentieth century and joined the automotive industry only in the 1950s. But very quickly, the Japanese brand established itself as a manufacturer of reliable and durable cars. Over the past two years, Subaru has been successful in the reliability rating several times, at least according to the J.D. Power Vehicle. Currently, the Subaru Impreza is probably the most reliable model in the brand's catalog. The Outback and Forester also receive high marks.
Genesis
Genesis, one of the newest automotive brands to make the list, is a subsidiary of Hyundai. Therefore, its approach to quality and reliability is appropriate. "The Korean company founded the subsidiary in 2015 to compete with luxury brands such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz. In less than 10 years, it has been included in many surveys and reliability reports as a leading brand. Currently, Genesis does not have as large a model lineup as other manufacturers, but this has allowed the company to focus on the reliability of its designs. Both the Genesis G70 and Genesis G90 have impressed critics and drivers alike as reliable cars with minimal problems.
Nissan
Despite the fact that the Japanese company is one of the ten largest automakers in the world and produces millions of cars every year, attention to the quality of each of them remains high. The lineup of Nissan models ranges from electric cars to family SUVs. One of the aspects that makes the brand's cars so reliable is that they are very easy to repair compared to many other brands. This is due to the availability of spare parts. At the same time, analysts point out that not only gasoline models are distinguished by their quality, but also Nissan's electric vehicles, which are on par with Tesla in terms of range and reliability.
Hyundai
The Korean company has earned a strong reputation for well-built cars that rarely break down and are relatively inexpensive to repair. The Elantra and Santa Fe models received high marks in the JD. Power Vehicle reliability study. The study showed that these cars are among the most reliable in their respective categories. Ioniq 5 and Tuscon also took high places in the reliability tables. The brand is so confident in its cars that it gives a very large warranty to the manufacturer.
Mazda
The Japanese brand has earned a reputation as one of the most innovative, which makes the fact that its cars are reliable even more impressive. Its designs combine sporty character with the predictability of a family car. Reports show that Mazda cars require the least amount of time off the road for repairs, while typical costs for fixing problems are also very low compared to other brands.
Mini
The Mini brand is now owned by German BMW but is still strongly associated with the UK. However, the aftermarket Hatch, Clubman, and Countryman models have been developed to take the best of both worlds – original British style combined with German reliability. Moreover, the new owner has corrected all the mistakes that were inherent in Mini from the beginning. So now the brand's models are chosen by both those who buy a new car and those who are looking for a good used car. They are also regularly included in the top lists of the most reliable cars.
Honda
The Japanese concern is known as both a manufacturer of quality motorcycles and cars, and in both categories, it is included in the ratings of the most reliable. No matter what you're looking for – a sports car, SUV, or even a hatchback - Honda has car models that can meet any need. At the same time, the brand invests a lot of resources in testing its cars and bringing the build quality to perfection. As a result, the brand's products boast impressive durability. The Accord and Odyssey models stand out as well-built and reliable vehicles.
Kia
The history of the Korean car brand includes a period when it had to stop producing cars completely due to a dramatic drop in quality, but a new rise began in 1997. The company's philosophy is to put customers first and provide only the best in terms of quality and service. This loyalty is reflected in the reliability of the cars, which can last for years without any serious problems and often take first place in the relevant ratings. For example, Kia Forte was ranked first in the compact car category, while Optima and Sportage were leaders in both the midsize and compact SUV categories.
Lexus.
Just like Genesis, Lexus was created to push European luxury brands out of the market, only the parent company here was Japanese Toyota. Founded in 1989, the brand quickly became known for its reliability and now produces a wide range of top-end and high-performance vehicles, from sedans and SUVs to sports cars. Since Lexus operates in the luxury car market, its philosophy is to cause its owner as little trouble as possible.
Toyota
Since its foundation in 1937, Toyota has become one of the largest automotive brands in the world. This popularity is due to the extraordinary reliability of the brand's models - people know that when they buy a Toyota, they get a really high-quality car. This can largely be explained by the brand's philosophy of controlling production and testing. In particular, cars such as the Prius dominate markets around the world, while the Corolla, Sienna, and 4Runner are also very popular.
