Our compatriot showed a great result

The famous Ukrainian biathlete Dmytro Pidruchny made a huge breakthrough in the pursuit race at the 2nd stage of the World Cup in Hochfilzen, Austria. The 32-year-old native of Ternopil finished 19th, having started from the 52nd position.

None of the competing biathletes made such progress in this race.

Our compatriot lost more than two minutes to the winner, Norwegian Johannes Tingnes Bøgh. The Ukrainian made one inaccurate shot at the last two borders, eventually losing by more than 2 minutes.

At the finish line, Dmytro didn't want to give up any ground to his rivals, making a real fight with Michal Krchmarz in the last meters of the course. The Ukrainian got ahead of the Czech only thanks to a photo finish.

With a clean run, Pidruchny took 14th place among all biathletes, entering the top 15 in terms of speed.

Another Ukrainian, Anton Dudchenko, kept his chances for points only on the first two rounds. After the third shooting, Anton had 4 misses.

This was superimposed on the traditionally low speed for the start of this season. As a result, Dudchenko, who started 47th, crossed the finish line 49th.
