The Latvian national soccer team scored the fastest own goal in its history. The episode took place in a friendly match against Liechtenstein.

At the 15th second, center back Marcis Ošs passed the ball to goalkeeper Pavels Steinborgs, who stumbled and missed the ball into the goal.

Despite having scored only one goal in their previous 15 matches, Liechtenstein failed to capitalize on this gift to win. Ten minutes later, Raymonds Krollis tied the game at 1-1 with a powerful shot under the crossbar.

After the break, Paolo Nicolato's men had the initiative and were constantly attacking, but failed to snatch the victory.

It is worth noting that Liechtenstein had previously lost 24 times in a row. The last time the national team of this dwarf state did not lose was in September 2021 in a World Cup qualifier against Armenia (1: 1).
