The World Cup was held in the Czech Republic
The 57th Biathlon World Championships ended with a men's mass start in the Czech town of Nove Mesto. Ukraine was represented in this event by Anton Dudchenko and Dmytro Pidruchnyi, who failed to show good results: 20th and 27th place respectively.
The main sensation of the mass start was the silver medal of a Latvian athlete. The 35-year-old Andrejs Rastorguevs, who ranks only 18th in the overall World Cup standings, won a World Cup award for the first time in his career.
The two-time European biathlon champion and participant in the 2010, 2014 and 2018 Olympic Games was the second biathlete in this race to complete the course without a miss. His absolutely accurate shooting allowed Andrejs to win a silver medal.
Johannes Tingnes Bøgh won with one inaccurate shot in the prone position. "Canten Fillon-Maye of France took the bronze medal.
