Hyundai has officially unveiled its largest electric SUV, the three-row Ioniq 9, designed for passenger comfort and interaction. The main mission of the car is to unite people in a spacious interior under a panoramic roof.

This innovative SUV meets modern challenges, including the isolation that people often face. The company positions it as an ideal choice for large families or friendly travel.

Space and comfort

The Ioniq 9 offers seating for seven passengers and the comfortable "Relaxation" seats in the first and second rows can be reclined and have a massage function. In the six-seat version, the second-row captain's chairs can be turned to the third row, which creates opportunities for communication between passengers. Thus, Ioniq 9 provides maximum comfort for long trips or family travel.

Power and range

The car is equipped with a 110.3 kWh battery, which is significantly more than similar models such as the Kia EV9. Available with one 215 hp engine or two engines with a total output of 430 hp.

In the most powerful version, the Ioniq 9 accelerates to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds, which is comparable to the dynamics of a BMW M3. The rear-wheel drive version offers up to 620 km of range on a single charge.

Silence and technology

The Ioniq 9 provides almost complete silence thanks to acoustic glass, three levels of sealing, and an active noise-cancellation system. Special tires also minimize noise while driving. The innovative suspension system automatically adjusts to road conditions, ensuring a smooth ride even on uneven roads.

Platform and digital capabilities

The SUV is built on the E-GMP platform with support for V2L and fast charging technologies. The cabin has a 12-inch digital display and another infotainment screen of the same size. There are also many USB-C ports, a panoramic curved display, and even the ability to purchase digital updates.

Safety systems

The Ioniq 9 is equipped with numerous driver assistance systems, including collision avoidance, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, and more. A spacious luggage compartment with a capacity of up to 1,323 liters is available for easy parking, and rear-wheel drive models have an additional 88-liter front luggage compartment.

Aerodynamics and style

The car has a sleek design with a low coefficient of drag (0.259 Cd), active air dampers, and large wheels up to 21 inches. LED lighting creates a "stadium lighting" effect, and the body has curves that Hyundai calls the "boat tail."

Going to market

Hyundai plans to release the Ioniq 9 in the US and Korea in early 2025, and later the model will be available in Europe. Prices have not yet been disclosed, but the car promises to offer high value due to its size, technology, and amenities.
