On Friday, April 19, a funeral ceremony was held in Kyiv for Pavlo Petrychenko, a sergeant with the 59th Separate Infantry Brigade named after Yakov Handziuk. His life ended in Donetsk region on April 15, when the soldier was performing a combat mission.

This was reported by an OBOZ.UA correspondent. On April 16, the defender would have turned 32 years old.

On April 19, the funeral of the fallen soldier and well-known activist Pavlo Petrychenko was held at St. Michael's Cathedral. Hundreds of Ukrainians, including relatives, friends, colleagues, and comrades-in-arms, came to pay their last respects.

Before the full-scale war, Pavlo was a project manager and participant in public initiatives. In March 2022, he was involved in the development of Serhiy Prytula's volunteer center, and in April he joined the Armed Forces.

After joining the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the soldier found himself in the south of Ukraine. There, he was flying a drone, reconnoitering enemy positions in order to adjust the mortar battery's fire on them.

It was Pavlo Petrychenko who registered a petition to restrict online casinos for military personnel during martial law. The soldier raised the issue of the harm of gambling addiction to our Defense Forces, and many military men began to thank him for it. Pavlo drew the attention of society and the authorities to this problem, making a big step towards its solution.

On Monday, April 15, the life of a Ukrainian defender ended in Donetsk region while performing a combat mission. The Hero was sent off on his last journey with lighted flares and on one knee. The soldier will be buried at Askold's grave.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, on Tuesday, April 9, the fallen officers of the 67th Brigade, Serhiy "Nord" Konoval, and Taras "Khymera" Petryshyn, were buried on Maidan Nezalezhnosti in Kyiv. The defenders of Ukraine were from Ternopil and died on the same day as a result of enemy shelling.
