Yaroslava started her performance with a mark of 1.90 meters. By that time, five of the eight athletes had already dropped out of the competition. After taking this mark on the first attempt, Maguchikh went on to claim a height of 1.94 meters. Here, our compatriot's only rival was German Imke Onnen.

Maguchikh then took 1.96 meters. Onnen missed the mark, deciding to jump 1.98 meters. All three attempts of the German athlete were unsuccessful.

The Ukrainian conquered 1.98 on her first attempt, and then jumped 2.01 and then 2.04 on her second attempt.

This became a new record for the Cottbus tournament, the best result of the season in the world and a repeat of the third best jump in the career of the athlete from Dnipro.

Maguchikh's personal record remains 2.06 meters, which she conquered in February 2021 in Slovakia.
