The upcoming sequel to the hit TV series "Peaky Blinders," which is soon to be released on Netflix, will not be the end of the story. This was hinted at by the creator of the original show, screenwriter Steven Knight.

According to Variety, Knight shared on the BBC Breakfast show that the shooting of the feature film has already been completed and it will be a fitting farewell to the series. But in general, the story is far from over.

The showrunner of "Peaky Blinders" confirmed that the shooting period of the feature film ended on December 13 and now the team is engaged in post-production. Knight also praised the cast that was assembled on the set. "We've got the best, I think, the best British actors in one place, including Stephen [Graham]," the screenwriter said.

The author of the project promised that fans would not be disappointed with the continuation of their favorite show. "What I'm watching – the outlines, the editing – will not disappoint anyone. It's incredible," Knight said. And he called the plot of the movie a good way to end this part of the story.

And at the same time, the screenwriter hinted that there will be a next part. When the hosts asked him if there might be another movie or series, he didn't say much, but his answer was encouraging. "I'm not allowed to announce it, but I'm just saying that the world of 'Sharpshooters' will continue," Knight said.

About the upcoming Netflix movie, we now know that the gangster saga will continue on the streets of Birmingham in the 1900s. Cillian Murphy will reprise the role of Tommy Shelby. He will be joined on screen by Rebecca Ferguson and Barry Keoghan. Knight wrote the script for the film and is producing it with Patrick Holland, Murphy, and Guy Healy. The executive producers are Tom Harper, David Kosse, Jamie Glazebrook, Andrew Warren, and David Mason. The film is being produced in association with BBC Film.
