Croydon midfielder Ryan Hall scored a goal in 2.31 seconds, the fastest goal in football history. The club plays in the Southern Counties East Football League, the tenth tier of the English league system. On February 17, Croydon met Cockfosters in the semifinals of the London Senior Trophy.
After the opening whistle, Hall immediately shot toward the goal. The visitors' goalkeeper was not ready for such a development of the attack and failed to cope with the shot.
On their social media accounts, Croydon appealed to the Guinness Book of Records to record a new world record.
