Khrystyna Shyshpor, prima ballerina of the Taras Shevchenko National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater of Ukraine, People's Artist of Ukraine, said she is successfully fighting against excess weight. She gained them because of the stress of the war.

The artist told about this in an interview with OBOZ.UA. At the beginning of the invasion, Khrystyna Shyshpor and her daughter sought refuge from the war abroad. After returning from France, the famous Ukrainian was forced to seek medical treatment.

The ballerina says she had neither the physical nor the moral strength to train.

"When we returned to Kyiv, there was euphoria for a while. And then, maybe a month later, I realized that life would never be the same again. It seems like you have to accept it, but you fight, you don't want to accept reality. And it just doesn't go away - stress, depression," explains Khrystyna.

The famous ballerina admits that she is naturally feminine. The artist has to fight all her life to be thin, which is necessary for ballet. Shyshpor says that she has recently radically changed the way she deals with her tendency to be overweight, as the old methods proved ineffective.

"I used to be able to go two days without eating and everything would fall into place," says Khrystyna Shyshpor, "but when you're over thirty, it's twice as hard to lose weight. I have gained 10 kilograms since the beginning of the war due to stress. And now I'm working with a nutrition consultant. It turned out that I absolutely cannot go hungry. I used to do it before - not eating, not drinking water - and it worked. Now it doesn't work that way. They developed a system of balanced nutrition for me. I send photos of my breakfasts, lunches, and dinners to a nutritionist. Sometimes she even tells me: "Add two more slices of bread". And I've never eaten it - it turns out that what I've been running away from all my life is what my body needs. I used to not eat breakfast, drink coffee, run to the theater, and not eat anything until the evening. Now I have this routine: I wake up, take vitamins, have breakfast, take vitamins again. And then the day begins."

"My advice to all girls: if you go on a diet, be sure to consult a specialist," adds the famous ballerina, "You can not eat for a day - you can sit on kefir. But when it becomes a way of life, it's wrong. The body needs proteins, carbohydrates, and fats - it just needs to be right. You should definitely not starve. Let's be honest: the body then eats itself, it has to exist somehow. And then we wonder where this or that disease came from."
