Consumer advocate and automotive industry professional Jeff Cudd has driven hundreds of cars and found the best and worst of them. Read on to find out which cars are worth your attention and which are not.

Cars with the best price

These models will last for years after the initial purchase. They are reliable, efficient, low maintenance, and have a decent resale value.

Honda Accord

The Honda Accord is a compact sedan with excellent performance and fuel economy. The LX and EX trims are equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 192 horsepower. The hybrid version has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors with a total output of 204 horsepower.

According to the expert, the car has the right combination of economy, reliability, and comfort. Also, the Accord depreciates rather slowly and does not require large repair costs.

Toyota Camry

Like Honda, Toyota is known for its reliability, cost-effective maintenance, and high resale value. The Camry also has a relatively low starting suggested retail price, but it does not neglect performance.

The model is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 203 horsepower and has an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Cars with the worst price

These cars are expensive and tend to depreciate quickly. They are also poorly handled, not economical, and require high repair and maintenance costs.

Jaguar XF

It's no secret that luxury cars are often among the worst value for money. They tend to depreciate quickly and require expensive maintenance and repairs. Taking all this into account, the expert noted that the Jaguar XF is one of the worst vehicles he has ever driven.

The initial recommended retail price of the 2024 Jaguar XF is $51,075 in the US market, almost double the current price of the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. However, in five years, the resale value may even be just under $30,000.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class

No matter how great this car is in terms of its performance, it is not worth the money it costs.

Its initial retail price is $118,450 in the US market, and annual repairs cost an average of $1,076. It also depreciates by an average of 46% after five years.
