This year, the main award went to Peggy, the ugliest dog in the UK, who became a real movie star thanks to her role in the movie Deadpool and Wolverine, according to FIDO Awards. This unusual Chinese crested pug-like dog was in the spotlight after actor Ryan Reynolds picked her up during the premiere screening of the movie in London. The top prize (BFI Best in World) goes to Peggy ("Deadpool and Wolverine").
This award is the highest recognition for dogs in the film industry, and Peggy has proven that even an unconventional appearance can make her a real star. In a conversation with the BBC last year, the animal's owner said: "We forget that Peggy is a 'non-standard' dog, and we know very well that some people will call her ugly. It's always a joke, and we're not offended, and neither is she."

How the FIDO 2025 ceremony took place
The awards ceremony took place on Sunday, February 23 at the British Film Institute on Stephen Street in London. The event was hosted by the founder of the Palm Dog Awards and FIDO Awards, Toby Rose, who called this year's event "pawfully" extraordinary.
Peggy is the winner of the FIDO 2025.
The judging panel, which included leading film journalists Anna Smith and Tim Roby, noted that the level of competition this year was one of the highest in the history of the award.
