On the night of November 17, Russian troops launched a massive combined missile and drone strike on Kyiv. The attack damaged a residential high-rise building in the Pechersk district of the capital.

As a result of a Russian missile and drone attack on the night of November 17, a multi-story building was damaged in the Pechersk district of the capital.

"The shelling caused a fire on an area of 0.5 square meters and partial destruction of the ceiling of a five-story residential building in the Pechersk district of the city. One of the apartments on the 5th floor was also damaged. As a result, 1 person was injured, and 30 others were evacuated to the fresh air," the Kyiv State Emergency Service said.

They added that 12 firefighters and 3 pieces of equipment were involved in eliminating the consequences of the attack.

Earlier it was reported that emergency blackouts were introduced in Ukraine due to the missile attack on November 17. The restrictions were first applied to Kyiv, Kyiv region, Donetsk and Dnipropetrovs'k regions.

Electricity was also cut off in Zhytomyr, Poltava and other regions of the country.

Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko clarified that the latest Russian attack was aimed at electricity generation and transmission facilities across the country.
