Motor Trend has published a list of the cheapest cars in 2024. If you have a limited budget, choose an option from the list below.

Mazda 3

The car has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder atmospheric engine with a capacity of 191 horsepower. It will be hard to find another model with five seats in the cabin for $25,355.

Honda Civic

The car is equipped with a 2.0-liter atmospheric four-cylinder engine with 158 horsepower. However, you can also choose a 1.5-liter turbo engine. Prices start at $25,000.

Subaru Impreza

The Subaru has really great handling, all-wheel drive, and a 2.0-liter atmospheric four-cylinder base engine that produces 152 horsepower. Prices start at $24,000.

Toyota Corolla

The car impresses with its interior space and high safety performance. The base Corolla is equipped with a 2.0-liter engine with 169 horsepower. The price starts from $22,900.

Volkswagen Jetta

The handling is far from ideal and the interior looks cheaper than it is. But the basic 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with 158 horsepower allows the car to move faster than its competitors while consuming less fuel. The price starts at $22,500.

Hyundai Elantra

The spacious car has the best 2022 IIHS safety model. In 2024, the Elantra's appearance was improved, making it the best budget choice in the compact car segment. The base model is equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 147 horsepower. Prices start from $22,000.

Nissan Sentra

The car has an attractive appearance and a large interior space. The 2.0-liter four-row engine produces 149 horsepower. Prices start at $22,000.

Kia Forte

The compact car has a 2.0-liter engine that produces 147 horsepower. Prices start at $21,000.

Mitsubishi Mirage

Despite the fact that the car weighs almost half as much as the average car in 2024, its driving dynamics are far from ideal, and its performance is poor. Even if you take into account how inexpensive the Mirage is, its disadvantages are significant. Prices start at $18,000.

Nissan Versa
