The best seven-seater cars for the family: which brand to choose in 2024

A big family is a great happiness, especially if you all get together for family trips: no matter if it's to your favorite pizzeria or a long trip. You may need more than the traditional five seats offered by most vehicles.

Experts have compiled a rating of seven-seater cars for the whole family. The list of leaders includes affordable and reliable brands.

Dacia Jogger

The Dacia Jogger is one of the most attractive options for family seven-seater cars. This compact station wagon looks a bit like an SUV, thanks to its thick bumpers and high ground clearance. There is even a Sleep Pack option that converts the rear of the Jogger into a double bed.

Dacia offers a choice of two powertrains: a 1-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 109 hp or the more attractive Hybrid 140 with a 1.6-liter gasoline-electric engine with 138 hp. It is quite simple in appearance and does not contain advanced technologies.

Hyundai Santa Fe

In 2024, the all-new fifth-generation Hyundai Santa Fe will be available, and the first thing you'll notice is its impressive appearance. The Hyundai Santa Fe is the most spacious seven-seater family wagon. The exterior lines create a truly spacious third-row layout.

Power will come from a hybrid transmission. Hyundai, by the way, has stopped developing the all-electric Santa Fe. Nevertheless, if you want to have an efficient, stylish, and simply huge seven-seater SUV, the new Hyundai Santa Fe should be on your wish list for 2024.

Volkswagen Multivan

Traditional MPVs have sometimes been called "minivans," so Volkswagen has taken this idea to its logical conclusion with its latest family model.

This VW model actually has no commercial counterpart. There is a choice of turbocharged diesel and gasoline power units with 148 or 201 hp. A plug-in hybrid option offers the potential for even lower operating costs. The Multivan is available in two body lengths and interior configurations with six and seven seats.

Volvo EX90

The Volvo XC90 is one of the best seven-seater models. No longer a plug-in hybrid, Volvo's largest SUV is a zero-emission electric vehicle. The car has a twin 510 hp engine, an all-wheel drive powertrain, and a 111 kWh battery.

The interior is complemented by its stylish, restrained, minimalist Swedish design and high-quality materials. The 15-inch portrait screen of the Google infotainment system with built-in 5G connectivity is also attractive. There is also an option for a Bowers & Wilkins audio system with 25 speakers and Dolby Atmos technology.

Kia EV9

There is a choice of an entry-level model with a single engine and rear-wheel drive called the Air with 200 hp or a two-engine all-wheel drive version with 378 hp. If you like a full range, choose the EV9 Air – it will travel up to 560 km on a single charge compared to 500 km for all-wheel drive options.

The EV9, like its "distant relative" Hyundai Santa Fe, offers a futuristic design. At over five meters long and almost two meters wide, the EV9 has 3.1 meters between the front and rear wheels. This means that the sixth and seventh seats in the cabin are more than suitable for adults, which is not the case with many seven-seater SUVs.
