The best nightlife cities in Europe where you can have fun and buy pizza and beer after 00:00

Which European cities are famous among tourists for their nightlife

After the pandemic, the British capital London lost more than a thousand establishments, which affected the city's nightlife. Tourists were no longer able to enjoy entertainment in round-the-clock areas, such as Soho.

The combination of rising costs, lack of licenses, and poor transportation infrastructure has led to a terrible nightlife culture: in fact, it's hard to find anything to do in central London after midnight. Instead, the Telegraph has compiled a selection of the best European cities where you can have fun all night long.

Many tourist destinations are shifting to a more relaxed atmosphere due to local prohibitions. For example, Italian cities are known for their evening dinners, where families gather around a communal table after sunset.

But in Milan, the tradition is also under threat from overly enthusiastic tourists in the lively Porta Venezia neighborhood. A temporary ban on the sale of takeaway food after midnight was imposed over the weekend in Milan as residents frightened by scandalous revelers asked for action.

Athens

Once a stopping point on the way to the islands, Athens is now a thriving tourist destination. Sights like the Acropolis are packed with crowds day and night.

The Greek capital offers more than just dancing until the wee hours of the morning. As is the case with southern Europe, warm evenings mean a culture of sitting on the terrace, slowly drinking wine and eating. Some metro and tram lines run until two in the morning, while others run until 12 in the morning. There are many cheap taxis to take you back to your hotel.

Berlin

If a night out necessarily means a visit to a nightclub, Berlin remains the leader. The truly dedicated already know about the Bergain, a legendary former power plant in the east of the city. Taking photos inside is prohibited - regular visitors report packed dance floors. The party starts after midnight and lasts until the next day.

The city has a number of alternative options, from old-fashioned to modern. A trip to Bei Schlawinchen, where beer is poured 24 hours a day, is a rite of passage. Or dive into Melek Pastanesi in the evening, where baklava is served around the clock.

Madrid

In Spain, nightlife is a matter of national identity. So much so that when the minister suggested that restaurants close earlier than usual, the public reacted violently. According to the Spanish newspaper El Pais, the most popular time for dinner is 21:20. That's why the capital has many wonderful outdoor terraces and open-air dining rooms.

Stop by Toni2, a lively piano bar, to listen to Spanish singing throughout the night - it closes at 6am. Finish the evening with a trip to San Gines, a traditional chocolate shop that is open 24 hours a day Thursday through Sunday and until midnight Monday through Wednesday.

When it's time to head back to the hotel, the Madrid Metro is your best bet. It runs from 6:00 to 01:30, with trains departing every 15 minutes after midnight.

Amsterdam

Amsterdam's reputation as a party traveler's destination can be problematic for locals and visitors looking for a quieter vacation, but that means the nightlife is impressive in its diversity. Those looking to dine out at night should head to local restaurants BAK or Daalder.

Clubs, of course, are plentiful and if you're trying to avoid debauchery in some of the more popular spots, places like De Japanner stay open until the wee hours of the morning. The last tram departs from the Central Station at 12:15 am, and a night bus replaces it.
